Consider this:
Many
retirement accounts are invested heavily in corporate stocks and bonds. And
many retirement accounts were a whole lot larger in earlier years than
they are right now. How about yours?
Know The Rules
Federal
tax law allows your IRA to own just about any kind of asset....
including real estate. And if your IRA holds real
estate assets, your retirement account will probably
grow much more rapidly over the long run as compared
to the general stock market.
The Roth IRA
HUGE POTENTIAL
One
of the best retirement vehicles on this planet is the Roth IRA. Profits earned under
the Roth umbrella, including rents and all the gain on any
sale of property, can escape taxation. The main
difference between the traditional IRA and the Roth
IRA is that your contributions into your Roth IRA are
not tax deductible from gross income as they are with
the traditional IRA.
|
But.....
and this is sweet news
.....if you have your IRA dollars in a Roth IRA for at least five years and are either 59˝
years old, disabled, or to the extent you’re a qualified first-time
homebuyer,
all of the dollars come out tax-free! |
Is this legal?
YES!
This is a question that is frequently asked by investors who have never heard that they could invest in anything other than stocks and bonds in their retirement accounts. They have no idea that they can invest in so many ways.
And something that few people really
realize............real estate has been an allowed investment since the day IRAs were created
------- almost thirty years ago.
Find out for yourself
On the
Internal Revenue Service’s website (www.irs.gov), you will find a link for
Publication
590. In that publication, you will see what investments are not allowed (collectibles, life insurance, s-corporation
stock).
Real estate is NOT mentioned as a disallowed
investment....NOR are stocks, bonds and mutual funds.

If
you have any questions regarding any of this, I will be
more than happy to share my knowledge with you so that you can
at least begin to understand more than you
might know at this moment.
And
do not be afraid to bring your lawyer and your
bookkeeper with you when we meet and talk!

What
do I get out of all this?
If I can begin to help you understand the
rudiments of Self-Directed Roth IRA investing, maybe I'll be able to help you find
that little piece of real estate that you'd like to invest in. Now if I do that, that will definitely make us both some
money.... and that, to me, makes for a win-win situation! |
